Blank plan. Matching example.

The working page stays uncluttered. The second page fills the same fields in the same positions, so help is easy to find without switching to a different form.

A compact monthly loop

Fill four fields and begin.

Start with your goal, finish line, Week 1 milestone, and first supporting action. Those four entries are enough to take the next step. Fill the other fields when they help you make a decision.

  1. DefineChoose one observable result and a date.
  2. MapGive each week one visible milestone.
  3. TrackScore useful actions against realistic targets.
  4. RecoverChoose a minimum version before a setback.
  5. ReviewRecord the result, lesson, and next direction.

1

Define the finish line

Month
The month you will work on the goal. September 2026
My one goal
Write an outcome, not a general intention. Save £500 for my emergency fund.
Finish line
Add a number, result, and date. £500 transferred by 30 September.
Why it matters now
One honest reason is enough. Create a calmer financial buffer.
2

Map the monthly path

Give each week one visible result, not a list of every task.

Worked example
  1. Choose the account and transfer the first £125.
  2. Find £125 from lower-priority spending.
  3. Earn or redirect another £125.
  4. Transfer the final £125.
  5. Close any gap and review the month.
3

Track the drivers

Supporting action
A repeatable behaviour that makes the milestone more likely. Log discretionary spending.
Target
How often you realistically intend to do it each week. 5x.
Weekly score
Write completed over target. 4/5 means four completed out of five planned.
4

Plan for real life

Obstacle
Name something probable and specific. An unexpected bill reduces what I can transfer.
If-then plan
Pre-decide your response. If that happens, reduce the transfer rather than cancelling it.
Minimum version
Choose the smallest useful action. Transfer at least £50 and reschedule the difference.
5

Close the loop

Result
Record what actually happened. I saved £475.
Lesson
Name what helped or changed. Friday transfers worked better than waiting until month-end.
Carry forward
Choose what happens next. Continue weekly transfers and close the £25 gap first.
Continue the monthly loop

Use the plan to decide what happens next.

Keep the printable page as the home for the outcome, then use one specialist resource only when it answers a question the planner cannot.

Common questions

Is the planner really free?

Yes. Download it instantly for personal, non-commercial use. No email is required.

Do I need to print it?

No. The A4 and low-ink versions are fillable. The online version also works on phones, tablets, and computers.

What if my month has only four useful weeks?

Use Week 5 as a finish, catch-up, rest, or review block. It is intentionally flexible.

What if I miss a week?

Reduce the plan to its minimum useful version, then restart from the next action instead of trying to recreate a perfect streak.
